If you look closer at the cards' titles, you will notice that the two dots over the letter u are centered above the vowel on the German Revised card (on the top); the German Fourth card (on the bottom) has the dots shifted to the left and lined up with the left side of the u. Known as an umlaut, its particular placement is the second easiest way to determine the edition (next to the i difference). In German, the umlaut occurs over the ä, ö and ü, making it possible to distinguish 16 of the 306 German Revised cards. |
